WHO WE ARE
ImmigrationWorks Washington is a coalition of Washington employers, major trade associations and attorneys. We support comprehensive federal immigration reform that is thoughtful and sensible. Washington State has a diverse workforce and a wide assortment of industries, professions and trades. We need immigration reform that attracts global talent to fuel a dynamic U.S. and Washington State economy. Our unique agricultural industry feeds the world. We need immigration reform to provide work visas for farm workers when U.S. employees are not available. Work visas for landscape contractors, hi-tech industries and hospitality industries are also needed. We need reform that is a realistic solution for the millions of unauthorized immigrants already living and working in the U.S. and Washington State. And, we need to assure that this reform secures our borders.
immigration works for us all!As business leaders, we are particularly concerned with comprehensive immigration reform that provides us with a workable path to hiring and retaining a workforce that can aid in our growth and development. The reform we are talking about should be comprehensive; creating a system that works effectively for employers, workers and government agencies. Reform should insure that U.S. workers are not displaced by foreign workers. It should also ensure that all workers enjoy the same labor law protections. The health of our business and our economy are tied to our collective workforces. These are the people that make the business engines run efficiently. Our business engines are in need of a tune up. ImmigrationWorks Washington has active coalition members from across the employment spectrum; dairy farmers, restaurateurs, landscapers, hi-tech industry, farmers and general business professionals.
